McCarthy set for CTCFC job | News Article
Benni McCarthy - Gallo

The former Bafana Bafana striker, Benni McCarthy, is set to be named as the new Cape Town City FC coach on Wednesday.

Last week, Eric Tinkler announced his shock exit from the club which finished fourth in the Premier Soccer League standings, during their first season in the top flight of South African football.

It is believed that the former Wits, Barnsley and Bafana Bafana midfielder, Tinkler, departed from the club in the Mother City to take up the head coaching role at SuperSport United.

The job at Matsatsantsa A Pitori was left vacant after Stuart Baxter was named as the new Bafana Bafana coach.

Meanwhile, it is believed that Luc Eymael is the front-runner to take over from Cavin Johnson at Platinum Stars.

Polokwane City has given the Belgium coach clearance to look for other work, following an aborted attempt by Bloemfontein Celtic to appoint him as their new mentor.

The former Bafana Bafana coach, Gordon Igesund, is also linked with the job in Rustenburg.
