Bafana Bafana have received a welcome morale boost ahead of their all-important 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Senegal after goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune joined the side for training yesterday.

Khune, who suffered a facial fracture while doing duty for his club, Kaizer Chiefs, during their Telkom Knockout Challenge quarter-final against Chippa United on Sunday, was a doubtful starter for the team but the latest news out of the Bafana camp suggests the stalwart is ready for action.

Khune looked to be as fleet-footed as ever, as coaches put him through his paces before tomorrow’s clash at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane which South Africa have no choice but to win if they hope to book a ticket to Russia 2018.

The equation for the team is simple, back to back wins over Senegal tomorrow and next week Tuesday in Dakar, when the sides clash again in the return leg, is non-negotiable for Stuart Baxter and his men, should they wish to book their ticket to Russia.

Tomorrow's vital home leg at the Peter Mokaba Stadium will kick-off at 19:00 while next Tuesday's away leg at the Stade Leopold Senghor in Dakar will kick off at 21:30.
