PSL nears halfway point─── ADRIAN BOTHA 09:24 Fri, 15 Dec 2017
As the Premier Soccer League approaches its half way mark for the 2017/18 season the points table is precariously poised heading towards 2018 and more specifically this weekends PSL fixtures.
Whilst Mamelodi Sundowns enjoy a 5 point cushion at the top of the table, the points difference between Orlando Pirates in 2nd and Amazulu in 12th is a mere 5 points, making each and every game of utmost importance for teams.
This weekend will most definately see some movement on the log with all 16 teams battling it out starting with Cape Town City FC who host Amazulu at the Cape Town Stadium this evening at 20:00
Bloemfontein Celtic in their turn could make the jump from 4th into 2nd position if they manage to beat Pitso Mosimane’s Mamelodi Sundowns when they clash at Loftus Versvelt in Pretoria at 15:30 tomorrow.
Free State Stars who moved into the 6th position with a 1-0 win over SS United earlier in the week will be hoping to maintain their good form when they host Orlando Pirates at Goble Park in Bethlehem at 18:00 tomorrow evening.
Defending PSL champions Wits will be desperate to get out of the bottom of the log 16th position when they welcome Platinum Stars to the Bidvest Stadium at 20:15 tomorrow evening.
At the same time, the Moses Mabhida Stadium comes alive as Kaizer Chief look to strengthen their top 4 position with a win over Ajax Cape Town.
