Stars dispatched Kaizer Chiefs during the semi-finals, while Maritzburg in their turn eliminated the new Premier Soccer League champions, Mamelodi Sundowns.
The sixth-placed Ea Lla Koto were one of the form teams during the second half of the campaign, while Maritzburg impressed by finishing 4th in the PSL standings.
The Stars coach, Luc Eymael, told OFM Sport that there is pride at stake for the QwaQwa-based teams, but no pressure.
“We respect our opponents, Maritzburg, a lot. They have very good young players, they have a very good team, and are play very nice football.
“It’s always fifty-fifty before the game and I hope that my boys will deliver to make their family, themselves, the committee and the fans of Free State Stars happy.
“That makes it a very important game, but we are not really under any pressure.”
Saturday’s big final at the Cape Town Stadium kicks off at 19:00.
