The former Bloemfontein Celtic defender, Alfred Ndengane, is one step closer to completing a move to the Soweto giants, Orlando Pirates.

Last month Celtic released their star player from his contract, after just six games into the new Premier Soccer League season.

This came in the same month that Ndengane was named as the PSL’s Player of the Month, and he was last instrumental in the team’s early success.

While Ndengane has not started training at Mayfair yet, he has moved into one of the clubs apartments.

As it stands, even if he has signed a contract with the Buccaneers, he can only start playing for his new team in January.

While the departure of Ndengane was a massive blow for Phunya Sele Sele, they did receive the timely news with the former Bafana Bafana defender, Wandisile Letlabika, returning from a nine-month long injury lay-off.

Letlabika played for Celtic this past Sunday during the Macufe Cup clash against Kaizer Chiefs in Bloemfontein, and he was back to his very best from the get-go.

Celtic travel to Pretoria this week, where they will face the PSL champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, on Saturday evening in the Telkom Knockout Cup. This game at the Lucas Moripe Stadium kicks off at 18:00.
