All eyes will be turned to the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit where Kaizer Chiefs face SuperSport United in the Premier Soccer League on Wednesday evening.

It will be the first match back for Ernst Middendorp since being appointed as the new Amakhosi coach.

The Glamour Boys are currently seventh in the standings, and the German coach, says that only positive results matter.

“You should never underestimate teams like Baroka, Free State Stars. I think for me it’s a journey of 16 games until the end of the season.

“I won’t put it too much on one, two, three or five, of course, there is a very clear understanding, and I don’t think it has to be mentioned specifically, that points must come. There’s no doubt about it, I am aware of it.

“Now in the moment, I think the team has this feeling of pressure in the past weeks and not really being successful. I think it’s not a good piece of work and jump in and hammer them.

“I need to put two or three elements in, not too much or to overload them, and I hope we can transfer it into the game.”

In Wednesday nights’ other games, AmaZulu host Bloemfontein Celtic at the King Zwelithini Stadium. Maritzburg United entrain Black Leopards at the Harry Gwala Stadium, and Wits take on Clinton Larsen’s Golden Arrows.

All Wednesday night’s games kick-off at 19:30.
