Cheetahs target improved attack─── MORGAN PIEK 10:10 Wed, 24 Feb 2021
The Toyota Cheetahs are targeting a much better attack during the preparation series which starts this week. The Cheetahs will be travelling to Cape Town to face the Stormers.
While there is still no word on the future of the Cheetahs regarding an international competition an announcement is expected soon, but they are just happy to get back out on the park.
Cheetahs coach, Hawies Fourie, told OFM Sport that they need to be a bigger threat with the ball in hand.
“As a team, we are looking to grow our game, especially on attack. I was not satisfied with our attack during the Currie Cup campaign and we've worked hard on our system.
“I am confident that we will be able to ask a few more questions of the defence, and be able to retain possession a bit more, get quick ball and make it more difficult for the defence. That was our main focus during the past three weeks in the preseason.
“We won't lose our focus on defence. We have made huge improvements in our defence and we will also look to improve on that.”
Fourie will be naming his team for the clash on Thursday afternoon.
Saturday’s game between the Stormers and Cheetahs at the Cape Town Stadium kicks off at 17:15.
