Bavuma ruled out of T20I series─── MORGAN PIEK 07:16 Fri, 09 Apr 2021
The Proteas captain, Temba Bavuma, has been ruled out of the four-match T20 International series against Pakistan, which starts tomorrow.
Bavuma sustained a grade one hamstring strain during the 3rd and final ODI on Wednesday.
The wicketkeeper, Heinrich Klaasen, will lead the Proteas for the series. Klaasen skippers the Proteas when they toured Pakistan earlier in the year.
In other team news, Reeza Hendricks has withdrawn from the series after the birth of his first-born child.
Dwaine Pretorius has also been withdrawn due to a rib fracture, and he continues his rehabilitation program.
Rassie van der Dussen will continue treatment and monitoring of his grade one left quadriceps muscle strain.
Aiden Markram, Andile Phehlukwayo, Daryn Dupavillon and Wiaan Mulder from the One-Day International squad have all be added as cover.
Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortjé, Quinton de Kock and David Miller are all unavailable due their Indian Premier League commitments.
