The eight-time MotoGP world champion, Marc Márquez, has been declared fit and will make his long-awaited return to the track this weekend during the Portuguese Grand Prix.
The last time Márquez was in the seat was in July during the Spanish Grand Prix where he crashed and missed the rest of the season.
Márquez confirmed the good news of his return via social media.
“I’m very happy. Yesterday I visited the doctors and they gave me the green light to return to the competition.
“There have been nine difficult months, with moments of uncertainties and ups and downs, and now, I will be able to enjoy my passion again.
“See you next week in Portimao.”
The Spanish superstar was set for a return during the season-opening Qatar Grand Prix just over two weeks ago, however, he was advised to put his return on ice.
Sunday’s Grand Prix at the Algarve International Circuit gets underway at 14:00.
