Billy Joe Saunders - PA

Britain’s WBO super-middleweight boxer, Billy Joe Saunders, has the tough task in the ring this weekend when he squares up against the Mexican superstar, Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez.

More than 70 000 fans are expected to be in attendance at the home of the Dallas Cowboys, the AT&T Stadium in Arlington to witness the bout which is one of the biggest in recent times.

At stake are Alvarez’s WBC and WBA world super-middleweight titles and Saunders’ WBO belt.

“I can't talk what he's done, down. He's done brilliant things for boxing," said Saunders about his 30-year-old opponent who has a record of 37 knockouts in his 58 previous fights as a professional.

“He's a good champion, but, as I say, there's a time in life where you get tested and sometimes when you forget where you've come from, and forget all those hard things, what's brought you to where you're at - sometimes that can make it difficult for yourself.

“I just think he's going to be bumping into the wrong man on Saturday night, to be going home with those titles.”

The 31-year-old Saunders is unbeaten in his previous 30 fights, and 14 of these wins can by way of knockout.

Alvarez is the overwhelming favourite to win a third belt. This super middleweight bout will take place during the early hours of Sunday morning.
