The Tafel Larger Griquas will focus on their discipline this weekend when they host the Sharks in the opening round of the Currie Cup in Kimberley.

The Peacock Blues are ready to welcome the Sharks, and they will be confident after beating the Toyota Cheetahs 23-19 last week in their final Currie Cup warm-up match.

The Griquas will be led by the loose-forward, Ruan Steenkamp, who recently joined the team from the Bulls.

Steenkamp told OFM Sport that they discipline is something that will come right.

“When had a few lekker warm-up games, especially the one against the Free State. I think that it was a good way for us to measure ourselves to see where we are at.

“I would say that we can a lot out of it and a lot of confidence.

“There is still a lot of things that we can work and improve on.

“Our discipline at certain stages is still letting us down, but we're working on that and eventually we have to get it right.”

Saturday’s game at Tafel Lager Park in Kimberley kicks off at 13:30.
