South Africa's Louis Oosthuizen was on in a tie for first when play was suspended during the opening round of the US Open at Torrey Pines in San Diego.
King Louis was one four-under-par following sixteen holes, in a tie with the USA's Russell Henley. Due to play being suspended earlier, Oosthuizen, still has two holes to play and could take the outright lead.
The next best South African in the field is Oosthuizen's big friend, Charl Schwartzel, on even par for a share of 24th, while Bloemfontein's Wilco Nienaber was a further stroke back on one over par for a share of 41st.
Nienaber, who is playing in his first major had a solid opening round. His round did, however, consist of bogeys on the 17th, 1st and 5th, while he sunk birdies on the 18th and 3rd.
He is still in contention to make the cut, but it will require that he starts well on Friday and carries good form through the round.
Last week's winner at the Palmetto Championship in South Carolina, Garrick Higgo, won't be happy with his round of five-over-par 76.
