Wilco Nienaber of Bloemfontein got off to a solid start yesterday during round one of the Dutch Open at the Bernardus Golf Club.
Nienaber, who has been struggling a bit of late, carded a round for four-under-par 68 for a share of 13th along with Justin Harding and the Rustenburg-born Brandon Stone.
Nienaber sunk five birdies during his 1st round, but also made a bogey on the par 3 6th for the only blemish on his card.
The trio are the leading South Africans in the first after the opening round and are three strokes off the pace.
Niall Kearney of Ireland leads on seven-under-par 65.
Dean Burmester, George Coetzee and Louis de Jager are all on three-under-par 690 for a share of 24th.
