Marco van Staden - Gallo

The Springboks will be naming their team for Saturday’s return Test against the All Blacks in the Rugby Championship.

Apart from the flanker, Marco van Staden, who is struggling with a shoulder niggle, Jacques Nienaber, has a fully fit squad at his disposal for the Test.

A few changes are expected with the Test being a dead-rubber, but they will also seek continuity for the upcoming End of Year tour to the UK.

To miss Van Staden will be blow for the Springboks as he made a big impact when he came onto the park last week as a replacement. His presence lifted the intensity and he looked dangerous with the ball in hand.

The Springbok assistant coach, Deon Davids, conceded that the teams decision making in the latter stages of a Test has been a problem and it is something that is being addressed.

“We’ve looked in depth at our game management in the last 10 minutes.

“You must understand that players are under immense pressure and this was a Test where there was a lot of pressure towards the end, a lot of intensity.

“We’ve looked at it again, and we’re the first to say we could’ve made better decisions in terms of that happened.

“But things happen and there are different reasons why things went wrong at the end.

“A lot of it has to do with communication and being able to make that split-second decision based on what you see in front of you.

“And, obviously, our players would’ve learned lessons based on that experience.

“Looking at the quality of our players and the experience they have, they will understand what they can do better.”

Saturday’s Test in Gold Coast will kick off at 12:05.
