South Africa’s leading men’s singles player, Lloyd Harris, will be put to the test on Monday evening during round three of the Indian Wells Masters in California.
The 24-year-old Harris will be up against the world number 10 and 6th seed for the event, Casper Ruud, of Norway.
It will only be the second times these two players go head-to-head after previously having played in Winston-Salem in 2019.
Ruud said that he will have to be on top of his game this evening.
“I'm going to have to be on top of my returning game because he serves really well.
“I've watch he a little bit this year and he has been playing really well. He has had a good year so far and he did reach the quarter-finals of the US Open.
“I have to be ready for a tough fight. He has improved his baseline game and he is a much more all-rounded player now.
“I know that his service game is wicked and I will have to be ready for tough returns.”
This game is set to get underway at 20:00 this evening.
