South Africa's Kevin Anderson has been eliminated from the Indian Wells Masters following a straight sets defeat to Gael Monfils of France.
The world number 18, Monfils, needed just an hour and 39 minutes to beat Anderson 7-5 and 6-2.
Very Uncharacteristically of Anderson, the big serving South African managed to serve just one ace in the entire round of 32 tie.
Monfils advances to face the third seeded Alexander Zverev in the fourth round.
The also brings an end to South Africa’s participation at the ATP1000 event after Lloyd Harris was beaten on Tuesday evening, while the doubles specialist, Raven Klaasen, has also been knocked out.
