South African tennis pro Lloyd Harris has climbed to the 129th position on the latest ATP rankings released earlier this week following his first ever win on the big stage.
Harris claimed that first win in style as he dispatched Gael Monfils of France 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 in 88 minutes at the Chengdu Open in China.
The win was another notch on the 21-year-old's belt as he has lived his best season on the tour since turning professional in 2015.
Harris picked up his first silverware in Lexington, Kentucky, before qualifying for his first Grand Slam, the US Open despite an opening round loss.
The Capetonian will now ready himself for the next big match of his run in China as he faces Australian qualifier, Bernard Tomic.
