The South African land issue has landed on the desk of the White House.
US President, Donald Trump, tweeted this morning that he has asked his Secretary of State to closely study South African land, farm seizures, expropriations and what he calls the large-scale killing of farmers. Trump further quotes Fox News, saying that the "South African Government is now seizing land from white farmers".
Meanwhile, Trump has gotten backlash from tweeters in the cybersphere - with the majority saying this is 'fake news', and some asking the President if he has 'read South African news lately'.
This comes as South Africa's government has decided to review Section 25 of the Constitution on the possible amendment of the Land Expropriation Bill. Public hearings were recently held country-wide, to get views from citizens regarding the possible amendment.
