The Springbok Sevens rugby will secure an Olympic medal this evening if they beat the tough Great Britain in the semi-finals of the rugby tournament in Rio.

The men in green-and-gold did well to beat Australia 22-5 in the quarters after losing 12-5 against the very same Aussies earlier in the day.

The South African U23 men's soccer team, Amaglug-glug are following Banyana Banyana home after drawing 1-1 to Iraq and failing to book their spot in the football tournament’s quarter-finals.

The weather in Rio wreaked havoc again yesterday and the rowers were severely affected with the competition being called off a second time.

Today will see the golf teeing off and it sees the sport making an Olympic appearance for the first time in 116 years.

The South African golfer, Brandon Stone, says the purpose-built course in Rio will thoroughly test the golfers.

At 20:00 this evening The Blitzboks tackle Great Britain in the rugby semi-finals and at 19:28 tonight, Chad le Clos will be in action in the 100m butterfly heats for another crack at a gold and of course, Michael Phelps.
