Kimberley - The Northern Cape High Court in Kimberley has heard that the Child Justice Act of 2010 places the interests of the child above concerns such as the seriousness of the crime and interests of society.
Defence attorney Riaan Bode is delivering closing arguments during sentencing proceedings of the Griekwastad triple murder case.
In March, a 17-year-old boy was found guilty of the murders of Deon, Christel and Marthella Steenkamp on their farm Naauwhoek in April 2012.
He was also convicted of one count of rape and defeating the ends of justice.
