Eleven flock fleecers arrested in NC | News Article

Campbell - Sheep and goats in the Northern Cape can bleat a little more blissfully this weekend after police said 11 people, including eight teenagers, had been nabbed for filching from flocks in the area.

Lieutenant Sergio Kock says on Friday morning two men were arrested in Schmidtsdrit, 70km west of Kimberley, for allegedly stealing 14 goats worth R14,000. "The police retrieved 14 goats and returned the stock to their original owner."
In a separate incident on Thursday, police arrested eight teenagers and a 37-year-old man for the theft of seven sheep, worth R7000, from a local farm.
"
Further investigations led police to slaughtered sheep found in a veld and some of this meat was also confiscated from several houses in Campbell."
The same farmer had 30 sheep stolen from him during the year.
Police would determine if those arrested could be linked to the other stock theft cases.  All those arrested would appear in the Douglas Magistrate's Court soon.
