Suspected petrol leakage into Vereeniging sewers─── DANE BEISHEIM 18:17 Mon, 06 Jul 2015
Vereeniging - There has been a suspected petrol leakage into the sewer system in and around the Vereeniging area.
A heavy smell of gasoline has been reported in Union Street next to an Engen Garage.
Fears have arisen that such a leakage could result in a significant explosion and health risks.
Emfuleni Municipality Spokesperson Stanley Gaba has said residents residing in the area are advised not to start any open fires next to the sewer mains, manholes and pump stations.
He told OFM News that the matter is receiving the urgency it deserves.
