Harrismith farmer pleads for govt assistance─── SABRINA DEAN 16:35 Fri, 06 Mar 2015
Bothaville - Harrismith farmer Thulani Mbele has added his voice to calls by organized agriculture for government to ensure farmers are in a position to produce again next year.
This was during the annual Grain SA congress in Bothaville this week.
Mbele, who farms with maize, soya beans, wheat and dry beans on his farm Alta near Harrismith, says he was fortunately spared the devastating veld fires in the region last year but says the impact of the drought is going to be devastating.

Mbele told OFM News it is very helpful to attend events such as the Grain SA Congress because it provides farmers with new information, updates on Safex prices and so forth.
