Motorist cautioned following NC veldfires─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 16:10 Tue, 28 Sep 2021
Motorist have been warned to be vigilant, as some of the roads leading to Northern Cape were closed following a massive fire that erupted in Kimberley on Monday.
Sol Plaatje Municipality spokesperson, Sello Matsie, urged all road users to adhere to closures and redirection of traffic by law enforcement agencies.
According to Matsie, all fires around Kimberly have been extinguished, however, strong winds have spread fires towards Boshof and Griekwastad.
He further adds that municipality, together with other involved stakeholders have deployed emergency services to continuously monitor the situation for the possible resurgence of the fires.
