“The last three or four games have been quite close for us as well, so we are definitely ready. The skills are sharp and we're definitely ready to go.”

The Northern Cape Heat will be targeting a second piece of silverware on Sunday to cap off another fine season.

On Thursday Heat edged the Knights by 4-runs in Bloemfontein to secure their spot in the Division 2 final of the CSA T20 Challenge, and they will face the in-form and confident Limpopo Impalas in Polokwane.

Earlier in the competition the Impalas beat the Heat by 13-runs. The Impalas have through the tournament unbeaten and it has been somewhat of a fairytale campaign for them.

The Heat coach, Mark Charlton, told OFM Sport that they will have to fight for the title.

“It's been a tough week for us with a lot of injuries etc., but I'm just so proud of my guys, they are absolute warriors,” said Charlton.

“From where we started to where we are right now, I can't be prouder, I really can't.

“For Limpopo it's been a bit of a dream story for them this season. They've played some incredible cricket.

“The coach Gordon Parsons is a good friend of mine and he is a wily old cat, so we're looking forward to fixing the wrongs of this game and up there and hopefully getting a 'w'.”

The captain, Grant Thomson, in turn told OFM Sport that in their previous game against the Limpopo they threw it any, but the will be dialled for the final.

“It was a disappointing loss in our second game. We were needing 18-runs off 18-balls. Then we lost five-wickets for four-runs and there was a hat-trick in-between,” said the former Titans allrounder.

“Everything was on their side. The last three or four games have been quite close for us as well, so we are definitely ready. The skills are sharp and we're definitely ready to go.”

Earlier in the season the Heat beat the Knights in the final of the 4-Day series to claim the title for a third year in a row.

Sunday’s final between the Impalas and Heat will get underway at 13:00.
