Bloemfontein - The case against a former Free State advocate who allegedly tried to bribe a judge has been postponed for further investigation.

Hawks spokesperson, S'fiso Nyakane, says Karabo Tau, who was earlier released on bail of R5 000 with conditions, will be back in court on November 29.

Tau faces charges of corruption, extortion, impersonating an advocate and conspiracy to commit an offence. This comes after he was allegedly approached by the families of nine people found guilty of the theft of diesel and racketeering.

Nyakane said Tau allegedly tried to bribe a judge to acquit the nine. The families allegedly paid him R80 000.
