“Growing up I always used to watch the Soweto derby and to be a part of it is honestly a huge privilege and honour. The best way to repaying that is going out there and giving the performance of our lives and hopefully getting the three points.”

The weekend's Premier Soccer League action will kick-off with a bang on Saturday with it being a Soweto derby between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.

There is little that separates these two clubs on the log and whoever wins on Saturday will not only claim the bragging rights, but it will also give them confidence going forward.

The Bloemfontein-born-and-raid Buccaneers and Bafana Bafana striker, Tshego Mabasa, who has been a life-long fan of the club said it doesn't get bigger than a Soweto derby.

“This is the biggest game, I believe in Africa,” said Mabasa.

Mabasa matriculated at Grey College, where he was their star player and straight after school he started playing professionally for Bloemfontein Celtic. From there, he joined the Buccaneers before a spell at Sekhukhune United and more recently, Moroka Swallows. The Dube Birds and Sekhukhune will face each other on Saturday as well.

Saturday's Soweto derby at the Orlando Stadium kicks off at 15:30.

Meanwhile, at 17:30, SuperSport United will face AmaZulu, Stellenbosch FC will take on Cape Town Spurs and Swallows will play against Sekhukhune. At 20:00, Richards Bay are at home to TS Galaxy and Mamelodi Sundowns will entertain Chippa United.

On Sunday at 15:30, Polokwane City will play against Golden Arrows, and at 17:45 Royal AM are at home to Cape Town City FC.
