On Wednesday night the 26-year-old was beaten in straight-sets by Ugo Humbert of France.

The world number 38 beat Harris 7-6 and 6-4 to advance to the quarter-finals.

Harris didn't go down without a fight as his service game is slowly but surely picking up as he served 14 aces. 

Harris has suffered a torrid year due to injuries, however, in recent weeks he has begun an eagerly anticipated comeback and he is steadily improving which tournament.

Harris used the tournament in Georgia to prepare for the upcoming US Open, where he reached the quarter-finals in 2021.

The next stop for Harris will however be the Washington Open.

On Friday in the quarter-finals of the ATP 250 tournament, Humbert, will face the second seeded Alex de Minaur of Australia.

Last week Humbert beat the former South African number one, Kevin Anderson, in the quarter-finals of the Hall of Fame Open in Newport.
