The men’s tournament at Indian Wells has had it’s fair share of upsets so far, but you wouldn’t know it if you looked at the semi-final line up. Three of the four semi-finalists from the 2023 edition will once again play in the 2024 semi-finals.

For the second straight year, it will be a mediterranean affair as Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz and Italy’s Jannik Sinner face of in the first semi-final. In the second semi-final, Russia’s Daniil Medvedev will take on homeboy Tommy Paul.

Sinner is having a fantastic 2024 so far and if he beats Alcaraz, he will retain his world number 2 ranking.  He has won 19 straight matches and has dropped just one set in total since winning the 2024 men’s singles Australian Open title in January. Alcaraz, who is currently ranked number 3 in the world, will try to build on his straight-set quarterfinal win over Alexander Zverev and continue his quest to reclaim the position of world number one.

In the other semi-final, there will be as much on the line.  Medvedev will try to make it through to the final for the second straight year, while Paul is looking to advance to his first ever ATP Masters 1000 final.

Paul has dropped just one set this tournament and will be full of confidence after beating Norwegian world number 9 Casper Ruud. Medvedev has had an equally impressive tournament so far, with straight-set wins over Grigor Dimitrov and young gun Holger Rune.
