Bloemfontein -  The Crusaders are backing themselves against the Toyota Cheetahs this week when the two sides face off in Bloemfontein.

The men from the South Island feel confident after beating the Lions 28-7 at Ellis Park over the weekend in what was in fact a poor performance by Johan Ackerman's chargers.

In the Cheetahs camp, Naka Drotské's men will take heart out of the fact that they were able to hold the defending champions, the Chiefs to a 43-all draw, despite leading 34-10 at half-time.

Saders captain Ryan Crotty says his boys are up for a challenge.

Meanwhile, their coach Todd Blackadder said he really enjoys the intensity of the tournament, but says they won't get ahead of themselves before face the Cheetahs.

The Bloemfontein-based side have had the upper hand over the seven-time champions in the last two matches the Kiwis have played in the City of Roses.

Saturday’s match at the Free State Stadium kicks off at 17:05.
