Bloem Celtic shift focus to the league

Bloemfontein - Following a disappointing exit from the Nedbank Cup, Bloemfontein Celtic turn their heads to the Premier Soccer League (PSL) where they are on the mission to maintain the top eighth spot.

Siwelele’s hopes of making it further in the Cup competition this season suffered serious setback when the 2009/10 champions, Wits, beat them 2-1 at Kaizer Sebothelo Stadium.

Nonetheless, Clayton Daniels, the skipper, said that the team had put the loss behind and would be looking to focus on the league action.

“With four games left, we will try and do our best to stay in the top eight,” Daniels told OFM Sport.

Ernst Middendorp and his charges travel to King Zwelithini Stadium to face the struggling Golden Arrows tonight before hosting Orlando Pirates.

Celtic occupy the eight spot with 36 points while Arrows are at the bottom of the standings with 14 points.

In their last outings, Celtic were stunned 1-0 by Sundowns while Arrows shared the spoils with Ajax after playing to a 2-all draw in Cape Town.

Tonight’s fixtures:

18:00 - Free State Stars v University of Pretoria at Charles Mopeli Stadium

19:30 - Mamelodi Sundowns v Black Aces at Loftus Stadium

19:30 - Golden Arrows v Bloem Celtic at King Zwelithini Stadium
