Bloemfontein - Distance runners Johan Cronjé, Elroy Gelant and André Olivier have been included in the final 38 member South African team to compete in the CAA African Senior Championships in Marrakech, Morocco from 10 to 14 August, 2014.

Last week the runners made international headlines, after OFM Sport first reported their shock omission from the squad to compete in Morocco.

Athletics South Africa president, Aleck Skosana, conceded that cut had been made due to financial reason, however, had no explanation as to why the country’s top athletes were cut from the squad.

At the stage, he said he could not comment on the matter before speaking to the national selectors.

Bloemfontein’s track star, Cronjé was recently named at the South African male athlete for 2013.

He was also South Africa's only medal winner at the 2013 IAAF Athletics World Championships in Moscow, Russia.

On Sunday he departed for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, while 800m specialist, Olivier has made it to the final of the event in the Scottish city.
