South African comedian, Trevor Noah has been placed on a short list to replace Jon Stewart on The Daily Show.
Noah has been appearing on The Daily Show since December last year.
He is said to have impressed executives of the show so much that they are considering him to replace Stewart. According to News24.com, Stewart's run on the show is ending in September.
Comedy Central would not confirm this but issued a statetment saying: “we are not commenting or providing guidance on any speculation about any individuals”.
Noah is based in the United States where he regularly hosts comedy shows. He has also performed for audiences in Dubai and London.
