Clark withdraws from the Masters | News Article

2006 Masters runner-up Tim Clark of South Africa has pulled out of next weeks’ Masters at the iconic Augusta National in Georgia.

The players’ agent, Thomas Parker confirmed that Clark had recovered from an elbow injury, however there is still pain and the player hasn’t got enough time to properly prepare for the years’ first major.

The 39-year-old Clark qualified for the prestigious tournament at the Bobby Jones and Alistair Mackenzie designed course by winning the Canadian Open last year.

Clark hasn't played a competitive round of golf since the final round of the 2015 Sony Open at the Waialae Country Club in Honolulu, Hawaii on 18 January.

Due to the tournament being by invite only, there will be no replacement for the South African and this will ensure that the tournament will have a field of less than a 100 players for a 49th straight year.

The players will be teeing it up at the Masters from next week Thursday and it runs until Sunday the 12th of April.
