McIlroy to attend Fight of the Century─── 08:36 Wed, 29 Apr 2015
World number one, Rory McIlroy will not miss this weekends’ massive Fight of the Century between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao for anything in the world.
The Northern Irishman, who is a keen boxing fan in currently in San Francisco for the WGC-Cadillac Match Play Championship which tees off later today.
When asked where he got his tickets and where he would be sitting, McIlroy chose to remain mum, but confirmed that he would be close to ringside.
McIlroy added that he hopes to still be in that World Match Play come fight time, but said he wouldn’t miss the fight for anything.
McIlroy is grouped alongside reigning FedExCup champion Billy Horschel, seven-time PGA Tour winner Brandt Snedeker and 2013 PGA Championship winner Jason Dufner in round-robin play.
The World Match Play Championship at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco tees-off at 18:00 this evening, while the Fight of the Century will take place in the early hours of Sunday morning.
