Yengeni drunken driving case to continue─── 08:26 Mon, 25 May 2015
Cape Town - The drunken driving case against ANC NEC member Tony Yengeni is expected to continue in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
During his previous appearance in April, Yengeni’s lawyer, Sylvester Vogel, said the party’s national executive committee member would pursue plea negotiations with the director of public prosecutions.
Magistrate Nasha Banwari postponed the matter for the plea agreement negotiations.
Yengeni, who is out on R500 bail, was arrested in August 2013 after he was stopped for allegedly driving his Maserati erratically in central Cape Town.
He apparently had a blood-alcohol level of 0,25%, five times the legal limit of 0,05%.
