Vierfontein - Police have arrested the second man who allegedly attacked the elderly Buks and Baby Swanepoel on their Vierfontein farm on Monday.
Free State police spokesperson Stephen Thakeng says Vierfontein chief detective, Zebulon Kolatsoeu, arrested a 27-year old man of Kanana, Orkney, last night in connection with the attack on the Swanepoel couple on their farm Sterkfontein. With this the police hunt for the attackers is over.
A first suspect, Tankiso Baleme of Lesotho, was apprehended by police and farmers shortly after the attack which left the couple with serious head injuries.
Thakeng says the man who was arrested last night, will appear in court in Viljoenskroon on Monday.
The Swanepoel couple are being treated at the Life Anncron Clinic in Klerksdorp.
A hospital spokesperson says 81 year old Buks’s condition has improved dramatically.
He has been moved from the intensive care unit to be with his wife in a private ward.
