R699 car scam victims to appeal court decision─── 17:24 Thu, 21 Aug 2014
Bloemfontein - Victims of the R699 car scheme say they are planning to appeal the Port Elizabeth High Court‘s decision to dismiss an application for a class action.
The affected group was hoping the court would declare the contracts they had with banks null and void. About 27 000 South Africans, who signed a deal with the controversial Satinksy group to compensate them for the number of kilometres they drove while advertising stickers on their cars, have been affected since the deal was called off.
They also allege that their information for financing was falsified on the bank application forms, and are now demanding the original documents from the banks.
Lana Nel, from Bloemfontein, says they are furious about the court’s decision, but this is not the end of the road for them.
