'Were Kuruman protests worth it?'─── OWEN KOCK 16:18 Wed, 27 Aug 2014
Kuruman - Northern Cape Education MEC Grizelda Cjiekella-Lecholo, today said when addressing the community of the John Taolo Gaetsewe District, her department cannot sit back and not acknowledge the problem of the road, which lead to the closure of schools, more than two months ago.
Cjiekella-Lecholo said the needs of pupils need to be placed first.
She accompanied basic education minister Angie Motshekga to the Glen-red Village outside Kuruman, to talk to members of the community and pupils, about the state of affairs.
She also met with the Joe Morolong Road Forum, in a bid to convince them as well as the community to send their children back to school.
Cjiekella-Lecholo says the pupils are the ones losing.
