Bloemfontein - Deputy Minister of Environmental Affairs Barbara Thomson will today hand over five refurbished provincially owned holiday resorts to the MEC for Economic Development, Tourism, Environmental Affairs and Small Business Development, Mosebenzi Zwane.
The handing over of the resorts, completed at a cost of R115 million, coincides with the launch of tourism month.
The government says it hopes to boost domestic tourism by attracting more people to visit these facilities. In the past financial year, 52 000 tourists visited the resorts in the Free State.
