Kuruman road construction yet to start─── OWEN KOCK 12:30 Thu, 02 Oct 2014
Kuruman - Construction of the Northern Cape's Kuruman road in the John Taolo Gaetsewe District seems to be moving very slowly.
This is the word from the secretary of the Joe Morolong Road Forum, Wilberforce Melore.
He says although equipment from the contractors, Tau Pele and Down Touch Investments has arrived, work has not commenced yet.
This comes after months of violent protests by the community over a 130km road they wanted tarred.
It also lead to schools shutting down for more than three months and pupils from grade R to grade 11 that will have to repeat their grades next year.
