Women arrested after stolen sheep found in bedroom | News Article

Virginia - A 30-year-old women from Thabong faces charges of stock theft after police confiscated 12 live sheep found hidden inside a bedroom in her house yesterday.

Free State police spokesperson, Malebo Khosana, says the sheep were found after a police officer from the Odendaalsrus Stock Theft Unit received a tip off.
He says the female, believed to be the owner of the house, was arrested after the sheep was found in a back room in her house. She could not explain why the sheep were in her house.

Khosana says the animals were returned to their owner after identification marks on them matched those of other sheep belonging to their owner.

Khosana says five sheep are still missing. A court appearance date for the woman will be determined at a later stage as the case still continues.
