FS Ed mum on developments at Zastron school─── 17:26 Fri, 31 Oct 2014
Bloemfontein - The Free State Department of Education today met with the headmaster of a school in Zastron where allegations that two female teachers have been involved in romantic relationships with two learners recently surfaced.
The department’s Howard Ndaba says the meeting with the headmaster of the Samuel Johnson Intermediate School, which was held in Bloemfontein, was a fruitful one.
He added that the allegations initially surfaced in May this year, but an investigation into the matter could not prove anything then.
Ndaba says that new evidence recently arose, and another investigation will be conducted. Ndaba did not want to disclose details of this new evidence, and he could also not say when the investigation is expected to be completed.
He confirmed that the two teachers have both been hospitalised.
The two boys concerned are 17 and 18-years-old, respectively.
