Two FS cops denied bail | News Article

Sasolburg - Two police officers arrested by Zamdela police in connection with an armed robbery in December were denied bail in the Sasolburg Magistrate’s Court today.

Police spokesperson, Sellwane Mapamela, says 30-year-old Motlalepule Hlabajo, and 38-year-old, Molefi Sefatsa, stationed at Vaal Rand allegedly pulled over a 25-year-old complainant, her husband and another male passenger in a marked police vehicle near Zamdela.
According to her the victims were told they are under arrest and had to head to the police station in convoy.
 
On route they allegedly stopped under a bridge when two other suspects appeared demanding money after which all involved went to a shopping mall in Johannesburg with the two vehicles. The woman gave them money and the suspects fled, leaving them there.
 
The suspects are expected to appear in court on February 10 on charges of armed robbery and corruption.
 
Police are still searching for the sother suspects.
