Postbank fraudster case postponed | News Article

Bloemfontein - The man who allegedly defrauded Postbank of more than R400 million, Moketsi Mahoko, appeared before the Bloemfontein Regional Court today, and will again be in court on May 28 and 29.

According to NPA spokesperson, the defense asked for a postponement to study the case docket prepared by the state. Mahoko was arrested in the city in June last year after being on the run since 2012. In 2012 he allegedly offered an individual a one and a half million rand bribe in return for confidential information which would compromise the integrity of Postbank’s banking system. He then hacked into the system causing losses of R420 million. The other three men in the matter, Boy Thekiso, David Motsoane and Teboho Masoleng are already serving jail sentences for their involvement in the crime. Owen Kock/OFM News
