Several rooms at Bloemfontein clinic closed─── 12:15 Wed, 04 Mar 2015
Bloemfontein - Several rooms – including the pharmacy at a government clinic in Bloemfontein have been closed down by the department of labour in the Free State.
This follows after a blitz inspection at the Bloemfontein clinic. Chief provincial inspector at the department of labour, Nomfundo Douw-Jack, says her department inspected 95 clinics and mortuaries.
A total of 80 non-compliance notices were issued for contraventions ranging from dirty clinics to poor waste management and a shortage of protective clothing.
The department of health now has 60 days to address the problems that are of a less serious nature.
Douw-Jack says her department gave the employer – in this case the Free State department of health until Friday to act in the case of the clinic that was found to have structural problems.
