North West farmer allegedly commits suicide after cattle theft─── DANE BEISHEIM 11:59 Fri, 27 Mar 2015
Ventersdorp - A North West farmer has allegedly after 30 head of cattle were stolen from his farm last night.
Alan Jones was a well-known farmer in the Ventersdorp area, as well as a local Democratic Alliance councillor. He allegedly shot himself.
According to North West police spokesperson Sabata Mokgwabone, police are looking into the matter.
He could however not confirm whether Jones had been robbed of his cattle.
Meanwhile DA leader in the province Chris Hattingh has conveyed the party’s condolences to Jones' family and friends.
