Aurora judgment to be delivered tomorrow | News Article

Pretoria - The North Gauteng High Court is expected to deliver judgment tomorrow in the five year court battle against several directors of Aurora Empowerment Systems.

The case involves the directors’ alleged mismanagement of two former Pamodzi mines - in Orkney and Springs - which resulted in the closure of the mines and around 5 000 job losses.

The directors, including Khulubuse Zuma, nephew of President Jacob Zuma, and Zondwa Mandela, grandson of former President Nelson Mandela, stand accused of corruption and mismanagement of the two mines. They also face a claim for damages of R1,7 billion brought by the mine’s liquidators.

Trade union Solidarity’s Gideon du Plessis expressed hope that the Aurora directors would finally be brought to book.

Judge Eberhard Bertelsmann’s judgment will be delivered at 09:00.
