SADTU to challenge Motheo FET employees' suspension─── 10:10 Thu, 09 Jul 2015
Bloemfontein - The South African Democratic Teacher’s Union (SADTU) says it plans to challenge the slow process of investigations into the alleged corruption and loss of money at Motheo FET College in Bloemfontein.
The allegations have seen some management staff, as well as some lecturers suspended for over a year.
SADTU’s Free State provincial secretary, Mokholoane Moloi, says it is unfair that the teachers have been suspended for such a long, without having been found guilty.
The union argues that the employees must return to work, and only be suspended after having been found to be involved in the allegations.
Investigations are being conducted by the auditing firm, PriceWaterhouseCoopers. The firm’s Director, Gerald Geldenhuys says they couldn't comment on the matter, as investigations are still underway.
