Complaints about service delivery at FS hospitals to be addressed soon | News Article

Bloemfontein - Complaints about poor service delivery at Free State hospitals are set to be addressed as compliance inspectors are expected to pay unannounced visits to hospitals countrywide.

The inspectors form part of the newly established Office of Health Standards Compliance, a statutory body created via the amendment of the National Health Act to monitor compliance with norms and standards for healthcare delivery.

Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi says the inspectors have been appointed and have started conducting mock inspections.

Earlier this month Free State residents flocked to the Treatment Action Campaign's hearing to share their stories of how the health system in the province has failed them.

The campaign's Anele Yawa told OFM News that health services are poor countrywide.
